Alex Popescu has over 13 years of experience advising technology companies of all sizes. He focuses on the intersection between e-commerce, privacy, and technology transactions.
Alex works closely with clients to develop a holistic approach to compliance, standard agreements and internal policies. He minimizes his clients’ risk exposure by drafting and negotiating a broad range of complex agreements, with a particular focus on technology, marketing, data transfers, privacy and associated risks. He helped clients negotiate agreements with companies like Oracle, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, or IBM.

Having advised technology companies in both Europe and US, Alex has taken a leading role in advising US based companies on international data transfer issues, privacy by design, and global data privacy regulatory compliance, including compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the recently adopted California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Alex has been the counsel of choice for multinational technology companies when faced with data privacy compliance requirements, enforcement actions, as well international arbitration proceedings using ICC and LCIA rules. Alex also represented companies in ICC Arbitrations and acted as Sole Arbitrator by appointment of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in technology related contractual disputes.
Alex is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professional and a Certified Information Privacy Professional.
